Bay Delta Conservation Plan

The ever-spiraling revelations regarding the quality of work and the duplicity of oversight on the new eastern span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge bring sharply into focus new doubts regarding the proposed Delta tunnels.

Coalition response...Regardless of your support or opposition to the BDCP and its twin tunnel solution to Delta conveyance, it is important to discuss concerns with facts and not made-up rhetoric. The beneficiaries of the project include 25 million Californians, almost 4,000 farmers, hundreds of thousands of farm-related jobs and people around the corner and around the world who consume California farm products.

Water Supply

The drought has gotten so bad in Kern County some farmers are being told they won't get any water from their irrigation canals this year

Transfers

The Modesto Irrigation District, which dropped a hotly contested proposal to sell water to San Francisco two years ago, temporarily has stopped the Oakdale Irrigation District from doing the same thing.

Salton Sea

A state agency's questions may push back the construction of a state-funded environmental project at the Salton Sea.

In a letter to the Salton Sea Authority, the state Department of Fish and Wildlife raised concerns that an initial study for a wetland habitat project at the north end of the Salton Sea leaves several questions unanswered.
