Speak out now on water transfers
Letter
from Chico Enterprise-Record – Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011
Coalition viewpoint...It would be a good for people to attend the Jan. 11 meeting and learn the facts about water transfers instead of the rhetoric that is too often espoused by individuals who do not present all the information. Water transfers are closely monitored in our state and must undergo a rigorous review process to guarantee that areas of origin---including people, businesses and the environment---are not harmed. In fact, a portion of the water that flows through the Delta as part of a transfer is required to be left in the Delta for environmental purposes.
