Coalition response...No one, not even the anti-canal folks, have said that an earthquake will never strike the Delta and cause major damage. Are these folks who are so adamant against a conveyance to move water around the Delta willing to bet the water future of 25 million Californians and family farms that such an occurrence will never happen? No one can predict an earthquake happening within the hour, day or week. But seismologists have gotten pretty good at warning us that one may be on the way. It is foolish to ignore their warnings.

Coalition response...While continued conservation, recycling and water use efficiency are needed for California’s water future, more must be done. Most water specialists agree that increased storage and improved infrastructure will be required to provide a reliable water future for California. But this diatribe that illustrates an anti-farmer viewpoint does nothing to resolve our current water problems. Nor does it do anything to secure a water future that we all need.
